Manchester City 1940s - 1950s
After World War II Manchester Citys team colours were classed as 'Light Blue' and then towards the end of the decade, "sky blue." - The shirt colour did not actually change, but this was simply considered to be a more modern term. This was a mixed time for Manchester City, as they gained promotion in 1947, this was soon followed by relegation in 1950 and promoted once again in 1951. In 1955 they were beaten by Newcastle in the FA Cup final, returning to Wembley in 1956 this time to beat Birmingham City to win the FA Cup for the second time. This shirt is long sleeved and made from Drill Cotton.
