Celtic 1967 European Cup with short sleeves.Embroidery reads EUROPEAN CUP FINAL LISBON 1967. Jimmy Johnstone, who wore number 7, scored over 100 goals for Celtic and was a member of their Lisbon Lions team who became the first British side to win the European Cup when they beat Inter Milan in 1967. In 2002 he was voted Celtic's greatest player by supporters of the club. Gone but not forgotten.

Celtic Football Club was formally founded at a meeting in St. Mary's Church Hall on East Rose Street (now Forbes Street), Calton, Glasgow, by an Irish Marist brother named Brother Walfrid originally from Ballymote in County Sligo on 6 November 1887. The purpose stated in the official club records as "being to alleviate poverty in Glasgow's East End parishes".
