England
The white England home shirt has remained largely unchanged since first international game against Scotland in 1872, occasionally extra coloured piping or flashes have been added to the shirt, the 1982 World Cup in Spain saw England add red, white and blue shoulder panels. England most famous victory to date came wearing the red away shirt in 1966 when the home side lifted the World Cup at Wembley Stadium.
We have loads of great England retro shirts for you to choose from, one of the most popular with the fans is the 1966 England red shirt. A hearty welcome to all our listeners in England. There are only a few minutes to go before the kick off of this historic match This great crowd of about 50,000 really have something to look forward to during the next 90 minutes. To ensure fair play and good sportsmanship, the german organisers have picked a neutral to referee the match...and he is now ready for the toss of the coin. The winner will have his choice of kicking off or defending, but will most probably choose to play towards the east goal with wind in his favour. Captain Bauman has done just that, and the allies will kick off this great event Well I tell you years from now, man will say of this game, did it happen? well I tell you in the listening audience today, it is happening. We're all witness's to an occasion long to be remembered, not as propaganda as some would say, but as a magnificent sporting spectacle. "HERES TO VICTORY!" ALLIES (Visitors) 1. In the opening twenty minutes of the inaugural group game of Euro 96 against Switzerland at Wembley, Shearer scored, breaking his goal-drought. After that game ended 1–1, a victory against Scotland in the next game was crucial. After a tight and goalless first half, Gary Neville swung over a curling cross, and Shearer stooped low to head home at the far post. It set England on their way to a 2–0 win, helped by a penalty save from David Seaman and a second goal from Paul Gascoigne. England now needed to avoid defeat against Holland to be in the quarter-finals, and Shearer and his strike partner Teddy Sheringham helped them win 4–1 with two goals each, with a performance described as "Total Football" by pundits. From his 63 caps, he scored thirty goals, joint-fifth in the England all-time goalscorers list with Nat Lofthouse and Tom Finney.
