Watford
Until the 1950s Watford turned out in a variety of crazy colour schemes, the first mention of the Watfords colours dates from 1888, when they wore blue shirts. Over the next few seasons, they changed to olive and scarlet and later orange and yellow and amber and scarlet shirts. In the early 1930s Watford’s colours were registered as turquoise and white, a unique combination. In 1959 they adopted gold and black and the now familiar Watford home kit was born. One of the best Watford retro shirts come from the late 1970s era when Elton John took over as chairman and Watford started their climb to division one.
