Coventry City

Coventry City was formed by the employees of bicycle manufactures Singers. The team ‘Singers FC’ adopted the bike manufactures colours of black & red in the early years. It wasn’t until 1898 that the Coventry team turned out in the more familiar blue shirts. Stripes were added to the shirts in 1919 and the kit remained largely unchanged until the 1960s when Coventry changed to an all white kit for seasons 1960 ~ 1962. The kit changed again in 1963 to all blue with the stripe re-appearing on the 1975 classic admiral shirt. In the modern era Coventry have switched between wearing all blue kits and striped shirts.
