The famous Chelsea shirt has remained virtually unchanged since the clubs formation in 1905, the only noticeable change is the shade of blue from the light blue racing colours of Lord Chelsea worn between 1905 and 1915 to the more familiar blue of the Earl of Cadogan, who was the club’s president in the pre war era. Although the home shirt has remain unchanged for over 100 years Chelsea has produced some notable away shirt designs. One of the most popular being the white away shirt shirt with red and green panels worn for just four games in 1974-75 season.
